I laid on the floor wondering what I should do. I felt cold and empty. There wasn't a thing that was worth living for in this world. I'm just this hollow shell.

My life once had a meaning. A reason for living. It was Toma, Ikuta Toma. He was the sweetest guy I've ever known. I loved him so much. He has hazel brown eyes and his stares always felt like an autumn breeze. I feel at ease when I'm with him. And now he's dead and gone.

The streets were buzzing as usual. The sky had the perfect shade of blue. But Toma didn't exist anymore. All because of that one person. All because of Erika. That bitch. He disappeared because of her. I'll kill her.

"Toma-kun!" I called out to him as he approached from the corner of the street.

"Pi-kun!" He waved back.

I was happy. I got to see Toma again.

"Toma-kun so where are we going for lunch today? How bout' the Italian restaurant down at street 51? The one beside the florist with the red head owner."

"Ah that sounds-" Toma phone rang. "ah give me a sec pi."

Toma answered his cell.

(Voice at the other end)
"Toma-chan where are you? Aren't you having lunch with me?"

"Ah sorry Erika..." Toma eyed me and continued speaking, "I'm having lunch with Yamashita today. Sorry I forgot to tell you!"

"Ehhhhhhhhh~ But you promised you'd have lunch with me every Tuesday!"

"Sorry Erik-" the other line hanged up.

"Sorry that you had to hear that Pi.." Toma looked at me apologetically.

I thought to myself for awhile.

"Toma-kun, I think you should go find Erika-chan and apologise. No need to mind about me!" I beamed while pushing Toma in the direction of the corner of the street.

"Really Pi? You're not angry?"
"Why would I be! No hurry up and go on!"

Inside I was burning. I loved Toma. But how could I be so selfish to keep him all to myself for my fantasies while his real relationship suffers? Besides, he would never love me back like I love him. He would never accept that I'm gay.

Toma bade goodbye and I watched as his figure slowly disappearing into the corner.

(Why was I so willing to let him go? Because I knew that we would not have an ending anyway.)

I kept questioning and answering myself. I guess this is what they call one-sided pain.

"Hello? Is this Yamashita-san?" I answered my phone.

"Yes? What's the matter?" I replied

"I am Ikuta Toma's father. I found your contact in his phone as he frequently contacted you. I called to inform that Toma has been in an accident and he did not make it.." The voice choked the last few words.

What? What am I hearing? How is this possible? I did not reply.

"Hello? Is anyone still there?" Toma's father questioned.

I clicked my phone off and disconnected the call. The call went into my voice mail.

"The funeral is on thursday, Nagoya Hall. 3 stops away from the Toma Household. Hope to see you there."

I was speechless. I collapsed to the floor. I sobbed. I threw tantrums hitting everything around me to the floor. How could this happen? Why did he pass away? Who caused this? I had no answers.
